God so wants to pour His spirit on His people and make known His words to us. As believers in Christ we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, but do we live in the Spirit, communing with Holy Spirit sufficiently to hear God’s voice or cultivate intimacy with Him to the point that we hear from God? He wants His people to listen and hear Him for He is our only source of wisdom, (God and God through Christ is wisdom personified) our only means to live lives that affirm we are truly His Children.
This is a psalmic discourse that starts with Prov. 2:20-23 following which I felt compelled to respond by beckoning and petitioning God:
Speak Wisdom, Speak LORD!
“Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.
21She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:
22″How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?
23Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.”(1)
Speak LORD, utter your voice this day so your wise counsel is heard. So multitudes turn from fruitless deeds and live according to your guidance.
Raise your voice Mighty One of Israel, LORD of all!
Many are we who desire to hear your voice, who have our ears lifted up and our hands raised up in praise!
That even a few would seek your face, that by their knowledge multitudes will receive your counsel and turn from their wicked and fruitless ways.
Raise your voice Mighty One!
Speak to those who tune in to your
Heavenly sound, that of many waters,
the roar of the Lion or Judah.
Show forth your Mighty Hand to save,
and your deeds to the Saints on bended knees awash with your Spirit and drinking from your cup of wisdom.
Now and always.
